PS3
starting monday evening, as i was leaving my office i saw the kids starting to line up. right now, there are probably close to a thousand boys under the age of 22, three deep, in a line that's curved from madison avenue down to 5th avenue.
they're sleeping in line for a week for a $600 video game.
fox news was there this morning. the city is getting flash flood warnings. we're going to get like 4 inches of rain in the next 8 hours.
this seriously can't be worth the grand or so they'll make selling on saturday. it just can't.
but any ladies looking for a smelly, tech obsessed, barely post-pubescent guy in new york city, head on over. your odds are really good. although, if they're not just buying it to make a buck, be aware that you won't be seeing them much for the next few months as they'll undoubtedly do nothing but play video games from here on out...
6 people who played with me:
So it's bad that I bought three?
I was smart and payed for mine online MONTHS ago though, and have already sold two of the three.
WAY MORE than $1000.00 though. You undershot with that number.
Hey wait, isn't it Thursday?
People only started lining up for the PS3 today around here. And I've heard a lot of complaints about the price of the system and I'd like them to stop. The hardware inside these machines is easily worth it. Sony always sells the hardware on the cheap and makes it up on the back end with the games. And yeah, that 1k profit margin? you totally undershot that. I'll be surprised if they go for under 2,500. You're smart enough to understand supply and demand. The supply on these is severely limited.
I believe it is strictly speaking not a video game but a video console, which can be used to play video games.
Personally I am not holding my breath, never having owned anything other than Segas first console back in the nineties and sticking with PCs ever since!
i'd be lying if i said i didn't know at least one person who thought of that and then cringed when he found out about a million other people had the same idea.
honestly, i think it's more about the money than getting the game. these people are banking on the desperation parents will have around dec. 23 when little johnny will *die* if he doesn't have one. hell, that sinbad/arnold schwarzenegger movie had to have been based on a true story, right?
but all that rain? those boys deserve the money.
I wonder how many potential children were conceived on these lines. My guess? None.
